June Jones, former Atlanta Falcons head coach, knows a lot about quarterbacks.

Jones, 68, spoke with Fox News Digital about Super Bowl LVI, and what fans can look forward to when the former No. When the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams face off at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, Matthew Stafford and Joe Burrow, both former No. 1 Draft picks will be in action.
Jones spoke highly of Burrow, saying that Jones believed Burrow was more prepared to join the national football league after having played in the same system at
LSU. He’s been so precise in the postseason, I think.”

Jones stated that the Rams’ defense will be the greatest obstacle for Jones as a second-year quarterback. Jones praised Burrow’s toughness, but he pointed out Burrow’s league-high 51 sacks as a concern.

He said, “His toughness shows up and that has spurred his group to really believe in him. That’s shining through brightly with the entire football team.”

“I believe the Rams will try to take away his quick throws and let their front four go. I think if they can do that then the front four will feel pressure. If (Burrow has to hold the ball at any time when they’re only running four), I think the Rams’ D-line is superior to Cincinnati’s offensive line.”
Jones expects Burrow to be a great performer, but he feels that it’s Stafford who needs to shine.

He never played on a good football team. He can do it. Yes, he can. And guess what? He’s already proven it with the Rams. Matthew Stafford will be questioned only once again if he wins the game.

Jones was the head coach for Hawaii between 1999 and 2007. He recalled being impressed with Stafford in 2008, when Georgia hosted Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl.

“I know the kid is the real deal. I watched the film in college about him. I have always loved him. The only thing that I noticed was that he threw more picks for the Rams that were poor throws. He had the chance to complete them, but he made poor throws.

He said, “He’s experienced a lot of adversity during those early years. I can see him playing at his best this Sunday because he has been in big ones previously at every level. Matthew Stafford would be a great addition to any league coach. It’s a veteran who understands the game and can make the throws. That’s what you have. Joe is a 10- or 12-year old and I believe he will be one of the greatest players to ever play in the National Football League. That’s my view of his potential.”
