PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — The Mets opened Grapefruit League play this weekend with a solid 2-1 showing.
They opened the spring exhibition slate with a win over the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Michael Conforto and Gavin Cecchini homered while Seth Lugo had a solid start on the mound.
Conforto stays hot in Mets’ 5-2 win
David Wright made his spring training debut on Saturday, at the newly-renamed First Data Field. In a crazy game, the Mets nearly came back to tie it in the ninth inning against the Washington Nationals, but the comeback bid fell short.
Conforto continued to shine Sunday, in the second game of a three-game homestand in Port St. Lucie.
Here are some of the best photos from the Mets’ first three games of the spring slate. Up next, they’ll host the Houston Astros on Monday and travel to Jupiter, Fla., to play the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.
