CORVALLIS — Oregon State players and coaches basked in Friday’s environment, when a record sellout crowd watched the No. 10 Beavers top No. 8 Stanford in a 50-47 thriller to win at least a share of their third consecutive Pac-12 title.
But OSU has no interest in sharing the championship. The Beavers can win the title outright with a victory over California Sunday at Gill Coliseum.
“They’re gonna come and try and crash the party, so we have to be focused,” said star guard Sydney Wiese, who averages 15.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists and ranks fifth nationally in three-point field-goal percentage (47). “We want it for ourselves.”
OSU could also win the conference outright if Oregon beats Stanford Sunday in Eugene.
Cal is coming off a 55-49 win over Oregon and is led by Kristine Anigwe, who ranks second in the Pac-12 in scoring (20.8 points per game) and third in rebounding (9.3 per game).
