Formula 1 fans gearing up for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit have been reminded to plan their journey wisely to avoid any traffic delays. With an estimated 480,000 motorsport enthusiasts expected to attend the four-day event, it is crucial to leave plenty of time for travel.
National Highways has assured that extra traffic officers will be deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow and promptly address any incidents that may occur. Those not attending the event are advised to steer clear of the area, especially from Wednesday onwards when heavy traffic is anticipated.
To manage the influx of vehicles, a one-way system will be in operation on the main A43 between the Abthorpe Roundabout and the B4525 interchange near Syresham on Saturday and Sunday. Traffic will be directed towards the circuit in the morning and away from the venue in the afternoon and evening on both days.
Additionally, Dadford Road leading to the Silverstone Circuit will be one way on Friday morning and throughout Saturday and Sunday. Fans driving to the venue are urged to follow the designated signs from the M1 and M40 and refer to their car parking pass instead of relying solely on satellite navigation systems. Different car parks may require exiting the A43 at various slip roads, so it is essential to be aware of the specific instructions provided.
