Kansas State’s John Currie has agreed to become the next athletic director for the Tennessee Volunteers, sources told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy on Tuesday.
An official announcement is expected later Tuesday.
Currie, 45, has been at Kansas State since 2009 and was at Tennessee previously as the No. 2 man to former athletic director Mike Hamilton.
Currie replaces Dave Hart, who announced in August that he was resigning. Currie is a graduate of Wake Forest and received his master’s degree from Tennessee in 2003.
Currie’s deal with the Vols was first reported by WNML in Knoxville.
