Turkiye’s National Women’s Volleyball Team, which won historical gold medals in the Nations League and European Championship, continued its invincibility in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Qualifiers. The Sultans of the Net beat Japan and made it six-six and guaranteed to participate in the Paris Olympics.

Our National Women’s Volleyball Team beat Japan 3-1 in the 6th match of Group B of the 2024 Paris Olympic Qualifiers held in Japan and made it 6 out of 6. With this victory, the Sultans of the Net continued their undefeated path in the qualifiers and achieved their 21st victory in a row.

Turkey faced host Japan in the sixth match of Group B of the 2024 Paris Olympic Qualifications. Japan started the match effectively and increased the difference to 6 points in the middle of the set with the effective play of Nishida and Hayashi: 12-6. Although the national team was effective with Hande and Eda in the second part of the set, Japan won this set 25-22 and took the lead 1-0.

The second set started with mutual points. While Japan scored points with Watanabe and Inoue, Melissa Vargas in the national team carried the scoring load in the attack: 10-10. After this episode, Japan scored 3 points in a row, increasing the difference to 3 and forcing Turkey to take a time-out: 13-10. After this period, both teams had series against each other, and Japan entered the last part of the period ahead 20-18. In the last episode, the Sultans of the Net, who scored points with Eda Erdem and Vargas as a result of ?lkin Ayd?n’s good services, went on a 5-0 series and won the set 25-22 and brought the score to 1-1 in the sets.

Both teams started the third set without making any mistakes in attack. The first part of the period was tied at 7-7. After this episode, the national team, which was effective with its block numbers, went on a 4-0 series and took the lead 11-7. Japan, who scored both attack and block points with Ishikawa in the later part of the set, reduced the difference to 2: 15-17. The last part of the set witnessed great excitement. After a 22-22 tie, Japan scored 2 points in a row and brought the score to 24-22. After this episode, Turkey scored 4 points in a row and took the lead 2-1 by winning the set 26-24.

Playing an effective game in the last set, Turkey led from start to finish and won the match 3-1 by taking the set with a score of 25-12. Following this result, the national team, which made 6 out of 6 in the qualifiers, gained the right to participate in the Olympics before the last match.
The Sultans of the Net will face Belgium in the 7th and last match of the 2024 Paris Olympic Qualifiers Group B tomorrow at 10.00 CET.

The Sultans of the Net achieved their 21st consecutive victory by defeating Japan. Having won consecutive victories in the Nations League and the European championship, the Crescent-Stars also beat Japan 3-1 and increased their unbeaten streak to 21.
