Bernie Ecclestone has countered the verbal attacks of Lewis Hamilton in the racism debate in the formula 1. The 89-year-old Briton, the Hamilton accused had to be “ignorant and uneducated”, said the Daily Mail (Thursday): “I have to level the same School as You.” And he added: “You can be happy, because if I had been properly trained, would not be formula 1, maybe, like you, and what you will benefit.” Ecclestone had managed in four decades, the commercial side of formula 1 and made it a global billion-dollar business.
He had an Interview with a CNN-that is, the uproar triggered. Therein Ecclestone had claimed, in many cases, black people are more racist than white people. Hamilton, but also the formula 1 management, the Ecclestone in January 2017 as managing Director of the Motorsport- “king’s class” had to be replaced, criticized the statements after that. He had nothing against Black, said Ecclestone, but added: “Black people should care for themselves.”
Hamilton, a six-time world champion and the first Black in a racing rig, had responded via Instagram on Eccles tone of the statements: “If someone who takes the Sport over the decades, so little of the profound problems understands that black people every day have to deal with, how can we expect understanding from the people who work under him.”
