Toyota has been growing the new-generation Land Cruiser for quite a while and despite its efforts to keep the SUV a closely-guarded secret, images and details about it’s surfaced lately.
The new Land Cruiser keeps the exact same recognizable shape as the decade-old J200-series version but does benefit from a plethora of noteworthy modifications. By way of example, the front end has been completely revised and includes a new grille and intakes that connect to overhauled headlights. Other key exterior alterations include the fitment of re-shaped wheel arches that are more squared than the current Land Cruiser. The rear end will also feature revised taillights.
The Japanese vehicle manufacturer has also made considerable alterations to the inside of the new Land Cruiser. By way of example, the off-roader will start with an enlarged infotainment system which sits over a new centre stack with revised infotainment and climate controllers. Leaked images have also showcased 4 High and 4 Low modes for its transmission, in addition to a host of off-road styles. The Land Cruiser may also include Qi wireless smartphone charging along with a JBL audio system.
Few information about the powertrains are understood, but some reports suggest a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 could be provided, as well as a hybrid version of this engine. A 3.3-liter turbo-diesel V6 may also be available in select markets.
