343 Industries’ Halo Infinite tech preview stream featured a glimpse of the Xbox One’s gameplay. The gameplay was taken from a Slayer match and showed off the first-person shooter on the latest-generation hardware.
The gameplay takes place in Bazaar (one of the new multiplayer maps added to Halo Infinite). The latest build of Halo Infinite is used to run the gameplay. This weekend’s tech test will use the same version.
Brain Jarrard, community director, stated that “prior to this stream were able to compile a little bit gameplay capture and I’d love to give folks a peek at–this will be a Halo Infinite multiplayer match, recorded I think last week in studio.” “Just to give you an idea of the current state of the game in this build, it’s running on an Xbox One.
Jarrard stated that “Right now, we are getting a glimpse at the Friend and Foe systems that we have discussed in some blogs in the past.” This is a change from forcing players to choose between red and blue. It allows us to keep the unique armor customization that has been a focal point of Halo Infinite.
Sam Hanshaw, a live producer, stated that he plays as many games as possible on Xbox One because “it’s an important thing for us support and make sure it looks good.”
“It’s amazing that we can bring this audience along with us. Jarrad stated that we know that there are many Xbox One owners, and frankly some people still want to purchase a new console.
Invites for this weekend’s technical preview have already been sent out, and the tech test will run from July 29 through August 1. Online multiplayer will be available, along with versions of the battle pass as well as cosmetic systems. This is a test, and the systems used in the test may not be accurate representations of final products. Additionally, unlocks will not carry over.
