The Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been released from custody according to his own data. He was free after 30 days, explained Navalny via Twitter.

“All a good day. I’ll be back with you after a 30-day business trip. I am very glad to be in freedom, “he tweeted.

The most important opposition leader was released a few hours before start of football World Cup, which opened in Moscow in afternoon.

Alexei Navalny had called for nationwide protests at beginning of May, just before President Vladimir Putin was sworn in to his fourth term. According to civil rights activists, almost 1,600 demonstrators were arrested, including Navalny mselves.

Putin had clearly won presidential election in March with more than 76 percent of votes – not least because his main adversary Navalny was excluded from election. In recent years, Russian judiciary has repeatedly opposed opposition leader.
