He made his comment after Buckingham Palace stated that the 95-year old monarch had been given two more weeks of rest by doctors.
Johnson spoke out on behalf of ITV News, saying that Johnson had spoken to Her Majesty just as she does every week as part of her job. Johnson was speaking on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit held in Rome.
Johnson, as prime minister, has a weekly meeting with the queen. The latest one was virtually held on Wednesday.
Johnson stated that Johnson had been informed by her doctors that she must rest. Johnson agreed with Johnson.
The queen had medical tests last week and spent the night at London’s King Edward VII’s Hospital. This was her first stay like this in eight years.
Since then, the queen has worked hard and will continue to do desk-based duties.
During her time off, she will not be able to attend the U.N. Climate Summit in Glasgow, Scotland on Sunday. She has however recorded a message which will be sent to all attendees.
She will also miss the Nov. 13 Festival of Remembrance at London’s Royal Albert Hall, which is an event to honour the British and Commonwealth women and men who have fought in wars, disasters, and pandemics to defend and protect the nation.
The palace stated that the queen had “firm intention” of attending the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at central London’s St. James’s Church on Nov. 14.
