SAN FERNANDO — Authorities today said a 15-year-old girl who went missing in San Fernando more than a month ago was found with the efforts of the LAPD Operation-Valley Bureau Human Trafficking Task Force.
There was no immediate word on Katherine Lizzette Solorio’s condition, but an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division said the teen was found by a specialized unit around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Los Angeles City Councilwoman Nury Martinez, whose district includes the communities of Van Nuys, Sun Valley and Panorama City, said on Friday the human trafficking task force helped find Solorio after the girl’s parents contacted Martinez’s office.
“My office worked closely throughout the day and night to assist, and we were in constant contact with the girl’s mother,” Martinez said in a statement. “I applaud the work of our specialized unit, the Human Trafficking Task Force, for their tireless work in protecting young girls and women. Their work has once again helped save a young girl’s life. I will continue to lead the effort to fight human trafficking in Los Angeles.”

Solorio was last seen about 1 p.m. on Jan. 16, according to police, who said she may have been headed to Los Angeles International Airport that day, “possibly looking for a flight to Las Vegas or Boston.”
At a 9 a.m. morning news conference for missing teen Elias Rodriguez on Friday in San Fernando, LAPD Lt. Katie Burns said she had no information about the circumstances of Solorio’s return.
