Bad Schandau (dpa/sn) – According to the will of the Saxon Environment Minister Wolfram Günther, regional and bio-regional products should become more a matter of course in the Saxon tourist regions. Experiencing authentic regional cuisine is one of the most important reasons to travel, said the Greens politician when he attended the annual conference “Saxony tourism meets BIO HOTELS” in Bad Schandau on Sunday. Such products are good for the climate and the environment and contribute to stable, crisis-proof supply chains.
According to Günther, regional specialties such as raw goat’s milk cheese from Saxon Switzerland, fish from Upper Lusatia, crayfish from the Tharandt Forest and high-quality white wines from the Elbe Valley also give the regions an unmistakable face. “That’s another reason why we have launched organic regional model regions in Saxony and have made structural changes in terms of support, advice and funding.”
