Friedewald (dpa / lhe) – A cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car near Friedewald (Hersfeld-Rotenburg district). The 81-year-old was taken to a clinic by rescue helicopter after the accident with a severe traumatic brain injury and a hip injury, the police said.
Accordingly, a 63-year-old driver had not seen the cyclist driving in front of her on Friday afternoon because she was blinded by the sun. As a result of the collision, the man was thrown onto the windshield of the car and then hit the road. The driver was not injured. Both the car and the bicycle were confiscated by order of the public prosecutor.
