Krefeld (dpa / lnw) – After a chase with the police, a driver in Krefeld caused an accident with several vehicles on Tuesday. Because the 18-year-old driver wanted to evade a routine check by officials on Autobahn 44, he accelerated and fled, the police said. On his escape he left the freeway and ignored a red traffic light in city traffic. He collided with a car.
The hit car then skidded and collided with two other vehicles. Several occupants were slightly injured, the driver was unharmed. According to the police, the driver of the accident car does not have a driver’s license and drove under the wrong number plate. He was also believed to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
