Gesees (dpa / lby) – A barn burned down in Gesees (Bayreuth district). The fire that broke out on Tuesday night killed 25 chickens, police said. Tools and various machines also fell victim to the flames.
A neighbor noticed the smell of smoke during an evening walk and became aware of the fire. The man then rang the 80-year-old resident and her 51-year-old son from the associated house and alerted the fire department. According to the information, this approached with 200 forces and finally brought the fire under control. The damage is estimated at a high five-digit sum. The police are investigating.
