Zwenkau (dpa/sn) – The construction work on the Zwenkau junction of the federal highway 95 in the district of Leipzig, which has been closed since Friday, is proceeding according to plan. As planned in advance, a 1,650 ton and 79 meter long bridge will be brought into its final position on Sunday, as Tino Möhring from Autobahn GmbH announced on Sunday. The blockage is then expected to be lifted again on Monday morning (5:00 a.m.).

The construction work at Böhlen is part of the completion of the last section of the Autobahn 72 between Chemnitz and Leipzig. The 162-kilometer-long motorway link from the Bavarian Vogtland via Chemnitz to Leipzig has been built piece by piece since 2003.
