Aachen (dpa / lnw) – Twelve people were slightly injured in a kitchen fire in an apartment building in Aachen, including a baby. A caller reported heavy smoke coming out of a kitchen window on Friday evening, the fire department said on Saturday. It was initially unclear whether and how many people had to be rescued by the fire brigade. Eleven adults and the baby were driven to clinics on suspicion of smoke inhalation, said a spokesman for the fire brigade. According to a police spokesman, the fire started when food burned on the stove.
