Erfurt (dpa/th) – In Thuringia, the corona infection situation has eased further for the time being. On Thursday, the corona incidence had fallen to around 369, according to an overview by the Thuringian Ministry of Health and the Robert Koch Institute. A week ago, the number of weekly infections per 100,000 inhabitants was 506, two weeks ago it was 673. On Thursday, Thuringia was one of the three federal states with the lowest seven-day value for new infections. Nationwide, this was given as 493.

However, the numbers are only meaningful to a limited extent, since the health authorities only count the cases detected by means of a PCR test. However, many doctors now do without such a test. Experts therefore assume that the incidence is two to three times higher. Within Thuringia, the incidence varies between almost 232 in the district of Sonneberg and almost 474 in the Ilm district.

In addition, there are sometimes significant differences between the age groups, as the weekly report from the State Office for Consumer Protection shows. The 30 to 59 year olds and the 18 to 29 year olds are particularly affected by infections, with the report referring to the incidence by age group in each case for the previous week.

Within the past seven days, 41 other people who were infected with the corona virus have died in Thuringia. In the same period, a total of 1653 new infections were officially recorded. 49 Covid 19 patients were treated in intensive care on Thursday.
