Greifswald (dpa / mv) – In an accident involving four vehicles, four people were injured in Greifswald, two of them seriously. The 62-year-old driver of a van collided with another car when turning off federal highway 109 on Wednesday morning, the police said. Both vehicles were thrown against two other cars waiting there. The driver who caused the accident and another driver were seriously injured. A female driver and a fourth driver escaped with minor injuries.
The Greifswald bypass had to remain closed for about an hour and a half at the accident site at the Gützkow exit due to salvage and clean-up work, which led to traffic jams. The exact cause of the accident is still unclear. The 62-year-old is being investigated for endangering road traffic.
