Stuttgart/Ravensburg (dpa/lsw) – The Ministry of the Environment in Baden-Württemberg is worried about one of its largest wind farm projects in the Altdorfer Wald (Ravensburg district) because of the Bundeswehr. Compared to data from 2014, it has been shown that the squadron based in Laupheim has significantly expanded its helicopter practice ranges, the ministry said on Thursday. This leads to a number of restrictions and complicates the expansion of wind power.

According to the data, no longer five but eleven percent of the areas in the southwest are covered with so-called low-level helicopter flight routes (HTFS). This poses great difficulties for the expansion of wind power. The Bundeswehr previously told the “Schwäbische Zeitung” (Thursday) that it supports the energy transition and has received an informal preliminary inquiry for the wind farm project.
