Braunsbedra (dpa/sa) – A drunk 36-year-old was slightly injured when fleeing a police check in Braunsbedra (Saalekreis). When the police wanted to check the man, he drove away at high speed, the police said early Monday morning. During the chase, the man lost control of his car and collided with a guardrail and several traffic signs. Eventually, he drove into a traffic light, where his escape ended. He was taken to a hospital. A breath alcohol test reportedly showed a value of over 1.2 per mille. The police confiscated the driver’s license of the 36-year-old.
