Leipzig (dpa/sn) – Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) visits the Federal Police Inspectorate at Leipzig Central Station on Monday (12 p.m.). The main concern here is the protection of critical infrastructure. According to the federal police, Faeser will be informed about the tasks of the inspection in Leipzig and should also speak to employees of the agency. Afterwards she wants to speak to media representatives. The federal police are also responsible for the security of the railway lines.

In view of the destruction of the Baltic Sea pipelines and attacks on Deutsche Bahn, Faeser called for better protection of critical infrastructure in interviews over the weekend. “We have to adapt to all conceivable scenarios and continue to increase protective measures,” she told the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Sunday newspaper”.
