Schwerin (dpa/mv) – In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, classes will start again on Monday (7.30 a.m.) for the around 160,000 students at general schools. Despite the increased number of infections in the country, according to the Ministry of Education, the corona protection measures that were in place before the start of the autumn holidays continue to apply. Accordingly, there is still no mask requirement, corona tests are only mandatory in the event of symptoms of illness. The three-phase model agreed at the beginning of the year, which is intended to enable continuous school operations under the conditions of the corona pandemic, is also valid. Depending on the availability of the teaching staff, the school management decides after which phase lessons are given. According to the Ministry of Education, only one of the approximately 500 schools nationwide was in the highest phase 3 before the start of the autumn holidays, and in 99 percent of the schools the lessons were largely regular.
