The Civil Guard has made two new arrests related to the case of Guillermo Castillo, the 78-year-old hotelier who was murdered on May 2 at his home in the Rioja town of Cuzcurrita de Río Tirón, a few meters from his restaurant ‘Bodega William’.

These two arrests are added to that of the prisoner of the Logroño prison, who was in the third degree of prison on the day the events occurred. However, it is not ruled out that more may occur, since the operation is still open.

The last two detainees, about whom no further details have been released, are waiting to go to court, while the first returned to the Logroño prison, where he was already serving a sentence for crimes of robbery, theft and dealings.

Since the victim’s body was found with various signs of violence caused by a knife, investigations have continued into what happened at the home of the innkeeper, whose death could have occurred at dawn during a robbery at the home, located a few meters from your restaurant.

The victim was born in Cuzcurrita del Río Tirón, in La Rioja Alta, where he decided to establish his restaurant several decades ago, very popular in northern Spain for its traditional Rioja food.
