Königswinter (dpa/lnw) – With an almost empty mobile phone battery and in the dark, a hiker got lost in the forest in Königswinter. The 21-year-old was rescued on Saturday, the Königswinter fire department said on Sunday. The woman had been traveling in the Siebengebirge and had not found her way back to Königswinter after dark. With an almost empty cell phone, she was able to dial the emergency number and transmit her location via GPS. After a search was made for her in the forest with loudspeaker announcements, she was found unharmed on a slope of the Schallenberg. Firefighters accompanied the young woman back to the train station, it said.
