Weil der Stadt (dpa/lsw) – Three people were injured in an unsuccessful overtaking maneuver on the B295 between Weil der Stadt (Böblingen district) and Simmozheim (Calw district). A 26-year-old driver crashed his car into the vehicle of an oncoming 56-year-old late on Saturday evening while overtaking. He was seriously injured in the collision and was trapped in his car. Rescue workers from the fire brigade freed him from the wreck. The injured person was then taken to a hospital by rescue helicopter.
The other driver and his 56-year-old passenger escaped with minor injuries. When the police noticed an odor of alcohol on the person who caused the accident, they took blood from him.
