Dresden (dpa / sn) – Saxony’s Science Minister Sebastian Gemkow (CDU) is happy for Medicine Nobel Prize winner Svante Pääbo. “A great day!” He congratulated, according to a statement on Monday in Dresden, on the “highest award” for his “outstanding scientific achievements and discoveries”. He is happy and grateful “that Saxony can offer the scientific environment for such an extraordinary researcher”. The Free State will continue to do “everything necessary to ensure the best conditions in science and research,” promised the minister. The Swede Pääbo has been researching at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig since 1997.
