Essen (dpa / lnw) – A 36-year-old is said to have attacked and shot a teenager in Essen. The man is now in custody. He is suspected of having followed the 16-year-old on a forest path, held a gun in front of him and asked for money, the prosecutor and the police announced on Friday. When the 16-year-old wanted to flee, the alleged perpetrator is said to have shot him with a blank gun.
After the crime on September 20, he fled without taking anything, the statement said. The teenager was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A homicide commission began investigating attempted manslaughter, which led to the 36-year-old suspect. He was arrested on Tuesday.
