Wernigerode (dpa/sa) – The finest singing without the accompaniment of instruments: In Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains, the focus will be on the new a cappella festival for the next two weeks. After the opening of the first music series on Friday, a total of eight concerts in the Liebfrauen concert hall are on the program until October 16th. The organizers are the Wernigerode Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and the Landesgymnasium für Musik. According to the information, the festival begins with a workshop by the Calmus Ensemble, which then invites to the concert “Cosmos of Love” in the concert hall in the historic old town, which emerged from a former church.

The actor Sky du Mont (“Manitu’s Shoe”) is also expected in Wernigerode. He accompanies the German a cappella ensemble Sjaella as speaker at their recitation concert “Über Liebe”. For music lovers there are further workshops, a sing-along matinee and workshop concerts. The State Youth Choir of North Rhine-Westphalia is expected as a guest.
