Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) – Because they are said to have brought two Syrians to Germany for money, two suspected smugglers are in custody. The federal police in Karlsruhe announced on Thursday that the 35 and 37-year-old suspects were accused of commercial and gang smuggling. The highway police checked the car of the two suspected Syrians on Tuesday at a service area on the A5 near Heidelberg. The officials also found two inmates who had allegedly been smuggled from the Czech Republic to Germany for money. They applied for asylum.

After Wednesday’s arrest warrant, the two suspects were taken to a correctional facility in Heidelberg.
