Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Although the federal-state consultations with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) get in the way, Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) is sticking to his trip to the USA. Kretschmann will fly to the United States with his delegation as planned, a government spokesman told the German Press Agency on Thursday. On October 4th, he will be digitally connected to the federal-state round of the federal relief package.
Kretschmann will fly to the USA with a large delegation from October 2nd to 8th to find out more about artificial intelligence and cyber security in Pittsburgh and California. The trip to the USA has been planned for a long time and is Kretschmann’s first major trip abroad since 2018. However, Kretschmann’s participation was uncertain after the short-term postponement of the federal-state meeting to October 4th. The negotiations with the federal government are also very important to Kretschmann – for many weeks he has been insisting on more support from the federal government, for example in local transport.
