Hildburghausen (dpa/th) – A 40-year-old had an accident in the district of Hildburghausen and drove on with opened airbags and a laceration on his head. According to the police, the driver came off the rain-soaked road on Sunday afternoon on a country road between Dingsleben and Zeilfeld when turning and fell down an embankment. There he broke through a pasture fence and fled in the damaged car. In a traffic check, police officers stopped the noticeably slow-moving car and noticed the deployed airbags and the 40-year-old’s head injury. The man now has to answer for hit and run.
