Dresden (dpa/sn) – This year, for the first time, there will also be a “Rail Day” in addition to the numerous days of honor and commemoration. Various events are planned nationwide for September 16 and 17, a railway spokeswoman announced on Wednesday in Leipzig.
In Saxony, those interested can take part in a tour of the Leipzig ICE factory, the train station festival in Chemnitz or a digital journey through the history of the railways in the postcard museum at the train station in Oschatz. There will be an information day for future trainees and a job exchange at Leipzig Central Station.
All those “who care about the railways” are responsible for “Rail Day”. The various actors, such as Deutsche Bahn, the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs, transport associations and clubs, are coordinated by the “Pro-Rail Alliance”.
