Nuremberg (dpa / lby) – 1. FC Nuremberg has found a successor for Tobias Schweinsteiger. As the Franconian second division soccer team announced on Monday, Ersan Parlatan will be the new assistant coach at the “Club”. The 45-year-old was most recently a coach at regional league club TSV Steinbach. Schweinsteiger left FCN last week to become a coach at third division club VfL Osnabrück.

“Ersan has already gained experience in a number of areas,” said Nuremberg coach Robert Klauß. “We’ve known each other for a long time and we’re always talking about football. That’s why I know his views and ideas and that ensures a quick start. He’s also an empathetic, positive guy.”

In the Turkish Süper Lig, Parlatan has already gained experience as an assistant coach with Konyaspor and Göztepe in the past. He was already on the training ground with the team from Nuremberg on Monday morning. The newcomer doesn’t have much time to get used to it. On Friday, the troubled traditional club is challenged at home against Arminia Bielefeld, who have been relegated to the Bundesliga.
