Würzburg (dpa / lby) – The Würzburg Baskets have signed power forward Martin Peterka from league competitor Basketball Löwen Braunschweig. As the Lower Franconia announced on Monday, the 27-year-old Czech signed a contract until the end of the season. “With his skills and his high basketball IQ, Martin will complement our other Big Men very well,” said Würzburg’s sports manager Kresimir Loncar.

Before Peterka switched to the Bundesliga two years ago, he won four championships with the Czech series champions Nymburg. The newcomer is currently playing with the national team at the European Basketball Championship.
