Munich (dpa / lby) – Bavaria does not want to spend any money on a follow-up offer to the 9-euro ticket – even if the federal government contributes 1.5 billion euros. “If the federal government wants that, the federal government has to finance it,” said a spokesman for the Bavarian Ministry of Transport on Monday. “That attitude hasn’t changed.”
In addition, the federal government must first commit 3.15 billion euros, as requested by the conference of transport ministers, in order to relieve transport companies of energy prices and ensure that at least the current local transport service is maintained. “Only then do we talk about tariff relief, which the federal government has to bear,” said State Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter.
The traffic light coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP had announced that the 9-euro ticket should get a nationwide successor – in the price range of 49 to 69 euros per month. The federal government wants to inject 1.5 billion euros if the states pay at least as much. The German Association of Cities and the Association of Towns and Municipalities then demanded funding commitments from the federal states.
