Sandhausen (dpa / lsw) – With Erik Zenga, the second division soccer team SV Sandhausen threatens to lose another top performer. Captain Dennis Diekmeier will certainly miss the home game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern due to a tendon injury. Tom Trybull’s use is also questionable due to an ankle injury. This was confirmed by coach Alois Schwartz two days before the southwest duel on Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky). Zenga suffered a hit to the ankle in the 1-0 draw at Holstein Kiel and was then substituted.
Should Trybull and Zenga fail, Schwartz would have to replace both regulars in defensive midfield. He had already changed the system in Kiel, but was unable to prevent the third defeat in a row.
Against promoted Kaiserslautern, SVS and Schwartz expect an away game atmosphere. More than two thirds of the 10,100 tickets sold so far went to fans of the guests. “That should spur us on,” said the coach of 14th in the table. “Of course we would be happy if there were more fans in black and white, but we just have to try to make ourselves even more interesting.”
