Bad Säckingen (dpa / lsw) – A train driver and her colleague were thrown at the train station in Bad Säckingen (Waldshut district) with a beer can and currywurst. As the police announced on Tuesday, the incidents happened one after the other on Monday evening.
First, the driver of a regional train traveling between Friedrichshafen and Basel was the target of a currywurst attack. The previously unknown man is said to have thrown an open pack of Currywurst through the window into the engine compartment from the platform and hit the engine driver on the arm. He suffered a shock from the attack and had to be relieved. According to the police, the alleged perpetrator is said to have attracted attention when the train stopped in Waldshut due to his aggressive behavior towards the train driver.
The second incident also happened around half an hour later at Bad Säckingen train station. An open beer can was thrown into the locomotive of a regional train that was traveling between Basel and Erzingen. According to the police, the can just missed the train driver. Even before the incident, the previously unknown man is said to have been shouting on the train and banging on the door of the locomotive from the inside. At the stop in Bad Säckingen he finally got off the train. He is said to have insulted the train driver from the platform before throwing the can through the window.
The police are assuming two perpetrators in the incidents, who should not be connected to each other. A police spokeswoman told the German Press Agency that it was an extraordinary coincidence.
The police are now looking for the men. A group of several men who are said to have spoken to the suspect after throwing the beer can are asked to report.
