Leonberg (dpa/lsw) – Because of a British aerial bomb from the Second World War, around 440 residents were not allowed to enter the area around the site in Leonberg (Boeblingen district) on Monday. In the afternoon, explosive ordnance disposal workers defused the 500-kilogram explosive device in a field, a police spokesman said. According to the city, Mayor Martin Georg Cohn (SPD) interrupted his vacation and headed a crisis team. People affected by the evacuation were able to stay in a hall until the situation was safe again.
