Lüdenscheid (dpa / lnw) – A signpost lying on a traffic island and protruding onto the road has drilled into the interior in a collision with a car. Only centimeters were missing and the driver’s head would have been hit on Wednesday morning, the police said in Lüdenscheid on Thursday. The 70-year-old woman at the wheel got away with the shock. According to the police, the street sign had drilled through the wheel arch, pierced the dashboard above the steering wheel and pushed up the roof from the inside. According to witnesses, the sign had been lying on the sidewalk nearby for a week, according to the police. Someone must have carried it to the traffic island. The police are investigating dangerous interference in road traffic.
