Plößberg (dpa / lby) – The pilot of a passenger plane was blinded by a green laser pointer light over the Upper Palatinate. The man was already on August 4 at 10:45 p.m. landing at Nuremberg Airport, the police said on Tuesday. Based on the positioning of the aircraft, the unknown perpetrator is likely to have been in the municipality of Plößberg (district of Tirschenreuth).

The “quite dangerous blind action” lasted about 40 seconds. However, the pilot was not injured as a result, so that there was no danger to the passengers either. The police are now looking for witnesses to the incident and have started investigations into dangerous interference with air traffic.
