Ulm (dpa / lsw) – A diesel thief was caught red-handed in a barn near Ulm by the owner. The man had approached a patrol on Saturday night because he had been informed that a burglar was in his barn, the police said. When he arrived at the barn with the police officers, a man was just coming out of the door. The 31-year-old tried to flee, but was overpowered by officers a few meters away. According to the information, he had pumped out diesel from several agricultural machines using a hose. The man had also tried to break open the doors of two caravans. The 31-year-old was arrested for the time being.
