Greifswald (dpa / mv) – A young man with his car in Western Pomerania dodged a herd of wild boars and left the road. He was unharmed, but the car was totaled, a police spokesman said on Wednesday. The 22-year-old man was driving on the federal highway 109 west of Greifswald on Tuesday evening when the wild boar suddenly crossed the road. When braking, the car veered to the right and landed in a ditch.

The wild boars apparently survived the accident unharmed and “continued their way undeterred by the accident,” as the police noted. The region around Greifswald is considered to be very rich in wild boar and accident-prone due to the proximity to water and damp lowlands.
