Atzendorf (dpa/sa) – A cyclist was hit by a car in the Salzland district and fatally injured. The 58-year-old was traveling between Atzendorf and Wolmirsleben on Wednesday night when a 47-year-old hit him from behind in her car, the police said on Wednesday. The alarmed emergency doctor could only determine the death of the 58-year-old. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The 47-year-old driver suffered a shock.
During the rescue operation, the section of the route had to be closed for around five hours. It was initially unclear why the driver recognized the cyclist too late.
