Römhild (dpa/th) – The man who died in a fire in Römhild (Hildburghausen district) is said to have caused the fire himself. After the 32-year-old set the fire in the attic of a residential building on Saturday, there was a detonation, the police said on Monday. As a result, the man jumped or fell from scaffolding on the building. He was found lifeless during the extinguishing work by emergency services and died on the spot. The damage caused amounts to around 200,000 euros. The investigation initially continued.
