Nuremberg (dpa / lby) – According to its own statements, the Nuremberg electronics manufacturer Semikron has become the victim of a hacker attack. “As part of this attack, the perpetrators claimed to have stolen data from our system,” says the company’s website. Whether this is actually the case and what data is involved is currently being investigated.

The general public prosecutor’s office in Bamberg, which is responsible for cyber crime, confirmed that they are investigating a cyber attack on a company in Nuremberg together with the Nuremberg criminal police. A spokesman did not say which company it was. The Bayerischer Rundfunk had previously reported on the incident.

According to Semikron, the company is working on restoring its ability to work and ensuring IT security again. As soon as it is clear which data the hackers may have tapped, customers and contractual partners would be informed.
