Munich/Budapest (dpa/lby) – After Sebastian Vettel announced his resignation, ADAC Sports President Gerd Ennser praised the role model effect of the Formula 1 star. “Sebastian Vettel has had an outstanding career and has given the Germans in particular, but also the fans around the world special moments. He is one of the greats of the sport,” said Ennser, who is also the race commissioner in Formula 1.

With his “outstanding career” and “his likeable manner, he is a role model for many young athletes and people – also because he is intensively committed to sustainability”. Four-time world champion Vettel (35) from Aston Martin wants to end his career in motorsport’s premier class at the end of the year. This weekend, Formula 1 is making a guest appearance in Hungary.
