Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) – The explosive ordnance clearance service has warned of ammunition finds in Hessian waters given the low water levels. Due to the current drought and lack of precipitation, there is currently low water in many rivers and lakes, the Darmstadt regional council, which is responsible for the explosive ordnance clearance service, announced on Friday. This could reveal World War II ammunition, since some of it was disposed of in the waters at the end of the war. Any finds should not be touched or moved under any circumstances. Decades of different weather conditions have made the remains of ammunition even more unpredictable. If found, the municipality or the police should be informed immediately.
