Heat, wind and waves activate the warnings in eight autonomous communities this Saturday in a day marked by significantly high temperatures in the eastern third of the peninsula, the Balearic Islands and the coast of Malaga, but with notable drops in the interior of the Canary Islands that will be even extraordinary in the center peninsular, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) which also warns of intervals of strong wind in the Cantabrian Sea, Strait, Ampurdán and, especially, in the Canary Islands, also with very strong gusts.

Specifically, high temperatures will activate warnings in Granada, Almería, Málaga, Aragón, Mallorca, Menorca, Albacete, Gerona, Lleida, Murcia, Valencia and Gran Canaria. Coastal phenomena will put Gerona, Gran Canaria, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and Tenerife at risk. These last five will also be at risk due to wind.

This Saturday, in a large part of the country, slightly cloudy skies will predominate without precipitation. However, due to the passage of an Atlantic front, cloudy skies and generally weak rains are expected in Galicia and the Cantabrian area. Throughout the day they will tend to move from west to east, subsiding on the coasts, with showers in the interior and affecting the Pyrenees, while more and more clearings will open up in Galicia.

Intervals of low morning clouds are forecast in other areas of the west and northwest of the peninsula, as well as on the Mediterranean coasts. Intervals of medium and high clouds are also expected in the southeast and the Balearic Islands, as well as scattered intervals of evolution clouds in inland areas of the northern and eastern thirds, without ruling out an isolated shower or occasional dry storm in eastern areas.

In the Canary Islands, there will be low clouds in the north of the islands without ruling out some light rain in the second half of the day.

In addition, it is likely that there will be morning mists or fog banks in the northwest and east interior and, later, in the mountains of the extreme north and high hazes are not ruled out in the southeast of the peninsula, Melilla and the Balearic Islands.

The minimum temperatures will decrease in the interior of the northern third, which will be notable in the Canary Islands, while the maximum will increase in the Mediterranean area. For example, 34-36 degrees (ºC) will be exceeded in the interior of the southeastern half of the peninsula and the minimum will not drop below 24-26ºC on the Mediterranean coasts. On the contrary, the maximums will decrease in the rest, which will be notable in the interior of the Canary Islands and even extraordinary in the central north of the peninsula.

The winds will be trade winds in the Canary Islands with strong intervals and very strong gusts, westerly winds in the Peninsula with strong intervals in the Cantabrian Sea and the Strait, except for the Levant and Northeast, where they will be south and east, as well as in the Balearic Islands. , rolling northwest in the Ebro and, with strong intervals, in Ampurdá.
